The biconical mixer (biconic) is designed for quick and high-quality mixing of dry, bulk, granular materials and components.

Mixers of this type are particularly effective for mixing multicomponent mixtures, in which the components differ markedly in volume and physical and mechanical properties (density, flowability, particle size and shape).

Design

The mixer is a bi-cone tank or vessel mounted on a frame and equipped with a rotation drive (gear motor).
The tank of the mixer has hermetic loading and unloading units. The vessel of the mixer is made of AISI 304 or AISI 316 stainless steel.
The mixer is also equipped with a positioning system that allows the tank to be stopped in the “load-unload” position (the discharge valve is straight down).
The control panel is equipped with a work timer, an emergency stop button and a motor control protection system.

Principle of operation

The components are loaded into the mixer through the loading door, which is sealed with a lid. Working capacity has a complex asymmetric shape, providing three-dimensional movement of particles of material. When the mixer is rotated, the materials, under mild conditions are mixed along complex trajectory under the action of gravity. Such a process eliminates the negative effect of centrifugal forces and provides high-quality mixing with a minimum expenditure of energy and time.
